DESCRIPTION
Don't be fooled by the size of this little dog. The Border Terrier is first and foremost a working dog that is capable of following a horse all day. Border Terriers have a lot of energy so need to have frequent walks in order to maintain a well balanced dog. They are happy to have a cuddle with you, but would much rather be chasing a small animal around the forest.

They are very intelligent, but can be hard to train due to their strong desire to chase. It is essential to socialise your Border Terrier from a young age with other dogs, children and adults to prevent aggression.

If you have a cat or small furry animal in your home already then this might not be the breed for you as they have such a strong hunting instinct.

If you decide you want a border terrier as a pet remember that you will need to exercise your dogs mind as well as taking him for long walks each day. A good way to get ideas for challenging his mind is to join a local dog club.

On average Border Terriers live to 10 years +
