Petplan specialises in pet insurance for domestic pets and was one of the first companies to enter the market back in 1976, and still leads the way (source: Datamonitor, 2006). Over the past 30 years, millions of pet owners have chosen us to look after their pets, and their pockets, helping them with the cost of veterinary care when things go wrong.

One of the big differences between Petplan and many other insurance providers is that we grew up alongside the animal welfare community. Today, everything we do is still designed to help ensure a better life for your pet. We are pet specialists and so can concentrate on providing the best possible pet insurance.

Pet Plan offered the insurance package that best suited my needs. I have been happy with how hassel free their cover is. The only thing that anoyed me was that although they provide lifetime cover for ongoing illnesses they do require you to pay the excess each year for that cover. Which if you werent aware of that can sting a bit.

Apart from that they have been great.

Bad experience all around. PetPlan staff are rude and did everything they could to slow paying off on the claim. Had to make repeated calls to followup. They were claiming they need this and that, items that I had already sent over and over. They picked out what they would not pay for, ended up getting about 15% of the total cost for a MPL. Rip off do not buy!!!!!
